Hey... Is This Thing On?

Wow! I can't believe it's been a month since my last post!

I guess an update is in order....

Well, as I mentioned in the comments of my last post, our son is doing much better. As best we can tell he had some type of viral infection that was suppressing his bone marrow's function. At the hospital his hemoglobin count got so low that the docs were talking about doing a transfusion, but he seemed to turn the corner before that became necessary. With his fever down and blood counts on the way up they let us take him back home and a couple days later he was feeling well enough to go back to school.

His hemoglobin count still hasn't completely recovered, but for the most part he's back to his normal loud, bouncy self.

On the house/move front.... Well, we're still here. We've dropped the price of the house (again) and have had a number of serious buyers indicate an interest, but no contract (yet).

My wife flew down to Austin last week to sign-off on the final plans for the house we're having built and pluncked down a hefty deposit. They should break ground in a month or so (once all the building permits and everything are in order).

It's frustrating and a bit scary, since we've now committed ourselves to the house in Austin without selling our current home. The whole situation is wreaking havoc on our budget [Help us out and click on some of those ads in the sidebar, won't you?] but we believe this is really the best move for our family right now and things will work out in the end.
