My weekly playgroup has hit the big time! Well, maybe not the big time... but we were on the news!

I've been hosting a weekly playgroup for stay-at-home dads (a few moms join us from time to time as well) and their children for the past couple years. Nothing fancy, just an opportunity for the kids to interact with each other and play for a couple hours. And it's nice for the dads to have a chance to hang out and talk. Apparently, with Father's Day just around the corner, we've become newsworthy. I'm not complaining, of course. I think it's great to have more positive exposure of stay-at-home dads. Maybe it'll help people see that daycare and Mom are not the only choices for caring for our children.

It was kind of fun and I think the kids (and the dads, too) enjoyed it. The segment was aired this past Wednesday night on our local CBS affiliate. They have a brief article on their website, as well as a video clip.
