"Hey, I'm a Dad!"

Those words first crossed my lips 7 years ago today, when I became a parent for the first time. It sounds like a cliche but, as most any mom or dad will attest, your life utterly changes the moment your child is born, and you are never quite the same.

It's the love that does it, of course. You know, that whole unconditional love thing takes on a whole new meaning as the reality of your parenthood begins to sink in (yeah, another cliche... but it's true).

I love you sweetie, with all my heart. You are the best daughter a daddy could ever have. Happy birthday!!!
