Not Feeling So Well

I debated about whether to post this or not, but, well, obviously, I decided to....

My 4-year old little guy has been sick all week. He's been running a fairly high fever, but we didn't really think it was anything serious. The fever's persistence has been a concern though (8 days now). We've been to the pediatrician's office three times in the past 7 days and this morning the doc sent us to a local hospital for some additional tests.

Now, due to some of the bloodwork results, they're sending us to another hospital downtown and in all likelihood he will be admitted. Our doc has said best case scenario is that he has picked up some kind of virus that is suppressing his bone marrow functions; worst case is that it could be leukemia. She said she wants us to be prepared for the worst, but she expects that it will turn out not to be cancer.

Scary stuff for a parent!

Anyway, I'd certainly appreciate your thoughts, prayers, mojo, whatever... for my son. I'll post an update when I get the chance. Thanks!
