The End Is Near and Other News

This week marks the end of an era, so to speak. I've been hosting a weekly playgroup for stay-at-home dads and their kids for over 3 years now, but this week will be the last one here at the house. Why? Well, that's the other news.

My wife and I have decided that it's time for a change, so.... We're moving... to Austin, Texas!

We have been working like crazy to get things ready for the move and to sell our house, which will hopefully go on the market next week. Last week we had the master bathroom remodeled. With the expert help of my dad, I've been tackling a variety of other projects like installing new ceiling fans, installing new bathroom fixtures, rehanging doors, painting, re-seeding the bare spots in the lawn and on and on. We have stacks of moving boxes in the basement and we've started clearing stuff out that isn't coming with us (still have a long way to go on that - have I mentioned what a pack rat I am?).

It's actually kind of hard to believe this is all happening, and quickly. Although I have lived all over, I am a native of this area and this has been home longer than any other place. It's going to be hard to leave our friends, our church, the stay-at-home dads group and all but still, it's exciting!

On the plus side, I've already found an Austin stay-at-home dads group.
