Ads You Can Use

Call me weird if you like (go ahead, I don't mind) but I find it interesting to read the ads that end up in my sidebar. Google does its thing in an attempt to make the ads relevant to what I post, which sometimes works. And sometimes doesn't (keywords are fine, but sometimes context makes all the difference). I once made a post that included the words "my beautiful wife" and within a couple days I had ads about "sexy singles" show up (I thought it was funny - my wife? not so much).

As I type this all 5 ads are about how to beat speeding tickets, which might have been helpful if that cop/preacher in Florida hadn't let me off with a warning. Now, if you were looking for a lawyer, would you hire one you found via a blog ad? I don't think I would, but maybe that's just me. Perhaps, as a blogger, I should be supporting the blogging community by patronizing businesses that in turn support bloggers? Hmmm. What do you think?

UPDATE (10/6 - 1:57pm): Hats off to the Zero Boss for offering his two cents worth on the speeding ticket post. I thought of sending it to Jay before posting it on my blog. He rants so much better than I do! ;-)
