Why it's great to be a stay-at-home dad - Reason #52

I can't be dooced.

I just read yet another article documenting the plight of hapless bloggers who have managed to get fired from their jobs because of their sites (this one by the AP via MSNBC). As a stay-at-home dad I don't have a job from which to get fired. So, I can blog all I want about whatever I want! Well, actually, I suppose there are some limits on my blogging. There are the two kids to take care of, errands to run, a house to keep and the like. So I really can't spend an unlimited amount of time on my blog. And my wife would probably kill me if I wrote about certain private things. But still... I don't have to worry about a boss or coworker going ballistic over my writing, and nobody tells me what to post or not post.

Ahh... yes! The freedom to blog - another reason I love being a stay-at-home dad!

One interesting note from the AP/MSNBC article: "Currently, some 27 percent of online U.S. adults read blogs, and 7 percent pen them, according to The Pew Internet and American Life Project." 27% read blogs, huh? Well, it's good to know there's room for my readership to grow!
