Blame it on Barney

Well, it looks like you can blame it on Barney (for some reason that brings a smile to my face).

Psychological Science reported on a study (LiveScience via Geek Press) last month that apparently linked the purple dinosaur, along with music like "rock, pop and even simple jazz typically performed in piano bars" to many American's inability to grasp offbeat rhythms. People from other cultures and even babies seem to have a better sense of complex rhythms than us adult Americans.

My wife has been telling me for years that I am rhythm impaired (we took dance classes before our wedding so I wouldn't completely embarrass us at the reception - it helped... a little). At least now I can blame it on somebody else! Hopefully our kids will inherit their sense of rhythm from the Puerto Rican side of the family.
