The Year of Broken Curses

Wall Street Journal reporter Roland Jones, in this MSNBC article, quotes Yogi Berra as saying, "it's hard to make predictions, especially about the future." Ain't that the truth?

A week or two ago, everybody (at least here in the DC area) was talking about the predictive power of the Washington Redskins in accurately forecasting the winner of the presidential election for the past 68 years. Well, it looks like 2004 is shaping up to be the year of broken curses. First the Boston Red Sox overcome the Curse of the Bambino to win the World Series, then George W. Bush wins re-election despite the Redskins loss to the Packers last Sunday.
