Got Your Thinking Cap?

Wired News (via Geek Press) reports on a recent study completed by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke that shows passing a very low level electrical current (2 milliamps) through a person's forehead may increase their verbal skills by as much as 20%. Researchers believe their findings may lead to new treatments for people with brain injuries and disorders.

Neurobiologist and lead researcher Eric Wassermann comments in the article that...
This process is so easy to miniaturize that it essentially becomes wearable.... One day, a patient could be wearing it in a hat... and turning it on perhaps at critical times of day.
Who knows, in a few years when our kids' teacher tells them to put their "thinking caps" on, they might actually mean it literally!
