It Begins!

Yes, the Washington Redskins are starting the football season with a bang!

They held the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to 3 and out on the Bucs first possession. Then the Skins follow up with a 64 yard touchdown run by Clinton Portis on his first play as a Redskin! We're up 7-0 only 4 minutes into the game!

Yeeagghh!!!

UPDATE: Yes!!! Despite a tight score (10-3) at the end of the half, the Redskins have dominated the game thus far. Our defense has been particularly effective, denying the Bucs any first downs! And the aforementioned Portis is over 100 yards rushing! That's making me feel better about giving Champ Bailey to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the running back.

UPDATE: The Lord was smiling on Joe Gibbs and the Redskins in today's season opener! After an impressive first half, the Skins struggled in the 3rd quarter as the Bucs offense seemed to gain some momentum. However, we found our footing again in the fourth and battled back, winning the game 16-10. Hail to the Redskins!!!

The Daily Yak offensive player of the game? Clinton Portis (RB; 148 yards; 1 TD)*
Defense? Matt Bowen (S; 8 tackles; 2 sacks; 1 forced fumble)*
