Now That's Service!

So, we had a problem with our van during the recent trip to Ohio.  One of the side doors wouldn't unlock, which meant the kids were trapped!  OK, maybe not trapped.  But it was quite annoying to have to climb over the seat to get them out.

We suffered with the stuck door for a couple days before I gave in and called a dealer.  We were planning to drive through Columbus on our way north to Mansfield, so I found a dealer just off the freeway and asked if they could take a quick look at our van.

It turned out that a small part had come off when we had gone through a car wash.  The missing part made a sensor keep the door locked.  At first they told me they would have to order a replacement part.  When I explained that I was far from home and travelling, they actually pulled the part off a new van and used it to fix mine.  To my surprise, I was in and out of the dealer in 15 minutes.  The part cost me $4.08, and my door was fixed.  Without a doubt the best experience I've ever had taking a vehicle in for service.

So, my thanks to Brian Klegen and Craig "Pee-Wee" Deitch in the service department at Hugh White Honda in Columbus.  They really went out of their way to help me, and my family certainly appreciated it.  Thanks guys!
