Weights and Measures

My kids are 15 months apart in age and although my daughter (the oldest) maintains an advantage in the vertical dimension, she and my son have been keeping even with each other for some time, as far as weight is concerned. So, following a bath the other night, we decided to weigh them again. Just out of curiosity.

They're still even with each other, with both of them tipping the scales at 40 lbs.

The funny thing is that if you pick them up, my son feels like he outweighs his older sister by a substantial margin. I suppose, maybe, it's that his weight is distributed differently. Or maybe my daughter just holds herself up better and that seems to make her feel lighter.

Anyway, one of the dads in our playgroup has a baby about 9 or 10 months old. And she looks so small. My eyes wander from her to my kids and it's hard to remember that they were that size too not that long ago. Really... they're growing up so fast!
