Is Big Brother reading your blog?

Well, not that the government would find much of interest here at the Daily Yak, unless they're interested in the activities of rogue 3-year olds, but still....

The monitoring of blogs (link courtesy of Change for America) was brought up at a recent intelligence conference in Washington DC.

According to the Yahoo article, "News and intelligence is about listening with a critical ear, and blogs are just another conversation to listen to and evaluate. They also are closer to (some situations) and may serve as early alerts," said Jock Gill, a former Clinton adviser. He's probably right.

Really, I'm not concerned that the CIA is reading blogs. I do it every day! Besides, they are public websites. If you don't want your writing to be read, don't post it! It is interesting though, and just shows you how far the blogosphere has come in the few years it's been in existence.
