Hey, pass the kung pao bean curd....

Here's a quick little entry from our trip (several more to come when I have the chance)....

Our first night at my in-laws, we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant (not an uncommon occurance) with a huge buffet. Buffets are great, especially with kids. No waiting for your order to arrive, lots to choose from if you have a picky eater, etc. DD3 loves lo mein... and she likes to share it. She does this thing where she picks out a long noodle, puts one end in her mouth and then tries to get someone else to put the other end in their mouth. Kind of like the spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp. She's never seen that movie, so I'm kind of at a loss to explain how she picked this up.

The kids (OK, I had some too) had Jell-O (do they often serve Jell-O at Chinese restaurants?) and fortune cookies for dessert.

My fortune cookie read: "Past experience: He who never makes mistakes, never did anything that's worthy." Hhmmm. I wonder if there's a corollary that says "He who makes lots of mistakes, has done much that's worthy." If so, I'm in good shape. At least as far as worthiness goes.

Oh, and my lucky numbers from that fortune were: 12, 17, 19, 33, 36, 38. Unfortunatley, they weren't the winning lottery numbers that night. Let me know if you have better luck with them.
