Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away....

Welcome to the Daily Yak!

I'm a bit of a novice at this whole website/blog thing, but I thought it would be fun to try. I discovered blogs a year or so ago when I found Rebel Dad. Rebel Dad linked to a couple other blogs, who linked to more, and more, and so on, until I could've spent all night reading interesting news and stories from around the world. To be honest, I had been feeling a bit bored with the web. Sure, I'd get online to check the news or try to clear out my garage by selling a few odds and ends on eBay, but blogs were different! Little snippets, a few paragraphs here and there, maybe a picture or two, they all became fascinating windows into other people's lives. Sometimes it was informative, sometimes inspiring, or entertaining, or maybe sad. What struck me most was how everyone out there had their own story to tell, in their own unique way. I was hooked.

Now, I'm the first to admit that I am not the world's best writer. But, as I said, everyone has a story to tell. Perhaps a few people out there in cyberspace will enjoy my musings, as I've enjoyed so many others'. We are not alone, and we can all learn from each other if given the chance. So, I've created the Daily Yak to share my story, my thoughts, with you. Hopefully, my little corner of the blogosphere will improve over time.
